Abstract

The use of visual research methods in social research has grown in popularity in recent years (Epstein, Stevens, McKeever, & Baruchel, 2006). Researchers who adopted photo-elicitation interviews (PEI) in their studies (e.g., Bates et al., 2017; Epstein, I., Stevens, B., McKeever, P., & Baruchel, S. (2006). Photo elicitation interview (PEI):; Harper, D. (2002). Talking about pictures: A case for photo elicitation. Visual Studies, 17(1), 13–) trace the pioneer of this technique to John Collier Jr. (1957), an anthropologist.
