Abstract
Trialkylphosphates, (RO)2P(O)OR', were prepared from dialkyl hydrogen phosphites, (RO)2PHO, and lithium chloride in R'OH by constant current electrolysis at a glassy carbon anode. Electrolysis at an anode having a larger area and at a lower current density gives better yields of the products. The electrolytic phosphorylation was also performed in acetone and in acetonitrile.
