Abstract

Experimentally induced E. acervulina infection depressed both performance and tibia bone ash of chicks fed graded levels of phosphorus in a crystalline amino acid diet. Performance and tibia ash were at or near their maximum at .5% dietary phosphorus. Thus, it seems clear that .5% phosphorus was adequate to meet the phosphorus needs of either healthy or E. acervulina-infected chicks.
