Abstract

Abstract Phosphites and phosphinites containing the free radical moiety 4-oxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl have been prepared by reacting the appropriate phosphorus(III) chlorides with 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl. Disulfurdichloride. S2Cl2, yielded the expected spin-labelled disulfide. The reactions with sulfurdichloride, SCl2, and thionyldichloride. SOCl2, have been repeated. The compounds were characterized by 31P nmr, esr and mass spectrometry.
