Abstract

Phosphinecarbon disulfide adducts, S 2CPR 3, are very versatile ligands that exhibit a variety of coordination modes to transition metal centers. These compounds are able to formally donate from 2 to 8e − to a metal (or metals). A resume of the synthetic methodology to prepare them, a rationalization of the structural diversity found in this type of complexes, and their main spectroscopic and chemical properties will be the scope of this review.
