Abstract

AbstractIn this work, we developed a phosphine‐catalyzed C‐methoxylation process of para‐quinone methides (p‐QMs). By employing a metal‐free phosphine catalyst [P(4‐MeC6H4)3] together with methanol and deuterated methanol (d4, d1, and d3) as C1 sources, a series of methoxylated diarylmethanes and the corresponding deuterated products were obtained without additional solvent under mild reaction conditions.
