Abstract

Phosphatidylserine synthesis in adult Dirofilria immitis females. International Journal for Parasitology 16: 9–11. Phosphatidylserine synthesis in extracts of Dirofilaria immitis females was found to occur exclusively by way of a calcium-stimulated enzyme-catalyzed exchange of l-serine for the base components of preformed phospholipids. Under specified conditions the rate of serine incorporation into phospholipid(s) was around 44 pmol min −1 mg −1 protein.
