Abstract

For pt.II see ibid., vol.10, p.1121 (1976). A cluster theory contains off-diagonal randomness, configurational short-range order and diagonal randomness, and which is related to coarse-grained quantities, is applied to the study of transverse phonons in damaged honeycomb lattices with correlated unpaired bonds, e.g. microscopic cracks, dangling bonds, vacancies and voids. Some excess densities of states are obtained in the study of the damaged lattices. The characteristic feature of the densities of states is investigated in more detail by conditional local densitites of states, containing environment effects.
