Abstract

The temperature dependence of the dynamical effective charge of superionic materials Ag 3SI and AgI have been obtained by using the measured phonon frequencies. It is found that the effective charge increases with temperature in the superionic phase. The behavior is explained by a model of ion transport, in which the basic process is the local fluctuation of the chemical bond.
