Abstract
The contribution of phonons to the Hubbard-type exchange interaction parameter is shown to be much smaller than the electron-phonon mass-enhancement parameter $\ensuremath{\lambda}$ as a consquence of Migdal's theorem. Application to Zr${\mathrm{Zn}}_{2}$ and the connection with $p$-state pairing are briefly discussed.
