Abstract
For paramagnetic relaxation in inhomogeneous lines, the combined effect of the phonon bottleneck and the spectral diffusion is studied on the basis of the phenomenological rate equation. It is shown that the energy can diffuse in the line by the agency of bottlenecked phonons until they relax to the bath.
