Abstract

Recent observations have demonstrated that, in the studied areas of El Salvador, the most frequent species of the genus Phlebotomus is P. longipalpis . 86,8% of the Phlebotomus captured belong to that species. It has also been found that big rocks is the prefered habitat of P. longipalpis . Other data on general biology of Phlebotomus are given, with special reference to P. longipalpis .
