Abstract
The chapter addresses the resurgence of explicitly Christian themes and authorities in contemporary continental philosophy, especially in the writings of French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy and Italian theorist Giorgio Agamben, drawing upon the arguments of Lambert’s recent book: Return Statements: The Return of Religion in Contemporary Philosophy (Edinburgh University Press, 2016).
