Abstract

A description of the properties of a charged dielectric surface is proposed in terms of the concept of stochastic charge distribution on the surface and the corresponding character of fields that govern the motion of external charges near such a surface. The applicability of the approach is shown on the basis of an analytical expression derived for secondary-electron emission current from the charged dielectric surface (depending on the current of primary electrons that excite the emission, the electric parameters of the dielectric, and its geometric dimensions).
