Abstract

Various magnetic core models have been used in circuit analysis programs ranging from simple piecewise linear representations of the B-H loop [1] to more complex versions, which include core dynamics [2]. The model reported is based on a phenomenological approach to the magnetic core. The model accounts for major and minor B-H loops, including initial conditions. The model also includes a single parameter T C , which is used to account for core dynamics. Provision has been made for the introduction of an airgap, 1 g , which permits analysis of circuits using gapped cores.
