Abstract

I shall focus narrowly on part of Huemer's case for the epistemological heart of ethical intuitionism: the claim that we can be justified in believing moral statements on the basis of intuition. He presents this case in chapter 5 of Ethical Intuitionism (2005) and supplements it in a more recent paper (2007) which I will also use. The main pillar supporting Huemer's position is Phenomenal Conservatism:
