Abstract

Measurements of jet production rates in p+p and Cu+Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV with the PHENIX detector are reported. Jets are reconstructed using the anti-kt algorithm with R = 0.2 from charged particles and electromagnetic clusters. The jet spectra are unfolded to correct for detector effects and underlying event background, and the resulting jet spectra are reported for the transverse momentum range 12<pT<40 GeV/c. The nuclear modification factors (RAA) and central-to-peripheral ratios (RCP) are presented as a function of pT and collision centrality. The results indicated that jets are suppressed by approximately a factor of two in the most central collisions.
