Abstract
Phellodendron chinense Schneid (Rutaceae) is a deciduous tree found widely in Southwest China. Rutaceae has attracted much attention due to its applications on various medical fields. In this study, we first report luminescent properties of Phellodendron chinense Schneid. NMR, PL, PLE, Thermal quenching as well as CIE coordinates and LED fabrication tests have been systematically carried out. Phellodendron give a intense yellow emission at 540 nm under optimal excitation wavelength of 460 nm. The absorption band of Phellodendron were in the range of 350-525 nm, which could be excited by both n-UV chips and blue chips. The CIE coordinate of Phellodendron is (0.3989, 0.5480). The LED package tests indicate the combining YAG phosphor and Phellodendron, the CCT could be dramatically decreased from 7623 to 3615 K. The result indicates that Phellodendron could be a potential yellow-emitting material for LED applications.
