Abstract

Abstract A phase-locked regulation system (PLRS) of a universal motor with a phase-frequencey comparator (PFC) is theoretically and experimentally studied. System asymptotic stability is proved theoretically and stability criteria are given. The theoretical result are in very good agreement with measurements. Finally, it is concluded that the PLRS of a universal or series DC motor is a cheap system with excellent speed regulation.
