Abstract

The parametric acoustic receiving array (PARRAY) exhibits a response to transducer vibration that is significantly different from a linear array. In some applications, low‐frequency transducer vibration may degrade PARRAY performance since Doppler modulation of the PARRAY signals caused by transducer vibration produces a convolution of the acoustic and vibration spectrums. A phase‐locked loop demodulator has been developed that can reduce the detrimental effects of transducer vibration on the PARRAY. The processor is described and theoretical and experimental results demonstrating the effectiveness of the receiver are presented.
