Abstract

We have developed C-band phased array for high efficiency microwave power transmission (MPT). This phased array is composed of 4 MPT modules (1MPT module has 76 sub-array) and has two features (1) high efficiency microwave output power, (2) high accuracy microwave beam control. For these realizations, we developed high efficiency class-F GaN High Power Amplifier (HPA) module and hybrid system of retro-directive system and REV method. This HPA module' PAE was about 41.2% on average and total output power of phased array was about 1.8kW (CW). We measured beam control accuracy and 0.15 degrees (RMS) of beam pointing control error was obtained in phased array's structural deformations. Furthermore, at our outdoor test field we demonstrated 54m distant wireless power transmission and about 340W DC power was successfully obtained.
