Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study of methods for reconstructing the phase of the spectral interference fringes (the groove spectrum) obtained by means of a low-coherence interferometer and a spectrometer, based on the use of discrete methods of phase automatic frequency control for cases of randomly varying and a priori unknown fringe parameters. The unwrapped phase of the spectral interference fringes characterizes the group optical path difference, and this makes it possible to investigate the dispersion properties of materials and to measure the displacement of objects. © 2003 Optical Society of America
