Abstract

The temperature dependence of the reactivity of organized organic thin films with an atomic beam of O( 3 P) was investigated. The films, either single or multilayers, were prepared by the Langmuir-Blodgett method. The reactivity varied linearly with temperature, which is explained by the penetrability of the atoms between the organic chains. Phase transitions in the thin films could be observed by the change in the dependence of reactivity on temperature
