Abstract

The double perovskite like manganite PrBaMn2O6–δ is synthesized via glycine-nitrate precursor route. Thermal gravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and high-temperature X-ray powder diffraction are used to demonstrate phase stability of the material at heating in air to 970 °C. The reversibility of oxygen exchange is found in cycling tests by switching gas phase between air and 5% H2/Ar mixture at 950 °C. The maximum oxygen storage capacity attains about 3.4 wt%, which corresponds to the non-stoichiometry δ variations within 0.94–1.03.
