Abstract

The operation of auxiliary machines in ac locomotives from a single-phase grid is considered. To obtain a symmetric three-phase voltage from a single-phase voltage, a static phase splitter must be employed, in the form of a single-phase reversible converter. The required power of this converter is no more than half the total power of all the consumers.
