Abstract

The propagation characteristics of the surface plasmon polariton (SPP) waves in graphene structures, including the complete, gapped and grid cases, are investigated with the transverse resonance method in terahertz band. By changing the chemical potential, THz phase shifters can be achieved with tunable SPP waves. Since the size of grid graphene phase shifter is reduced significantly and the variation of insertion loss also decreases, the miniaturization can be expected for the phased array.
