Abstract

Hubbart renewed the motion for change of venue and jury selection began. It would take twelve days. Hubbart outlines his strategy for selecting jurors, namely asking white jurors about their opinions on racial issues and white supremacy while asking Black jurors if they could remain fair and impartial. Most of the potential jurors were familiar with the case, and many were convinced of Pitts’ and Lee’s guilt.
