Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to propose a new mathematical model for solid–liquid phase transition. The model is derived from the well-known phase-field system and contains the hysteresis operator characterized by the ordinary differential equation including the subdifferential of the indicator function for the closed interval. We give a theorem concerned with the existence and uniqueness of a solution to our system. Moreover, we show the convergence result on solutions of our systems.
