Abstract
In the ternary reciprocal system Li,K‖I,CrO4, the stable diagonal Li2CrO4-(KI)2, the stable partitioning element (KI)2-LiKCrO4, and the stable triangle Li2CrO4-K2CrO4-(KI)2 were studied by differential thermal analysis using the projection-thermographic method. The compound LiKCrO4 melts congruently and undergoes two polymorphic transformations in the solid phase throughout the concentration range of the Li2CrO4-K2CrO4-(KI)2 system. A T-x-y computer model of the phase complex of the system Li,K‖I,CrO4 was constructed, which enabled one to obtain isothermal sections of the system and a polythermal section of the unstable diagonal and predict the characteristics of the ternary eutectic of the yet-unstudied stable triangle Li2CrO4-(LiI)2-(KI)2.
