Abstract
Isothermal sections of the Al-Cu-Fe phase diagram in the region of 50 to 75 at % Al, 0 to 25 at. % Fe were recently reported for temperatures from 680 to 800 °C. A determination of the 550 °C isothermal section was unsuccessful due to prohibitively long equilibration times; however, a new phase was found at 550 °C. The present note describes this new phase and proposes a 550 °C isothermal section in the low Fe (0 to 9 at.%) region to correct previous subsolidus diagrams.
