Abstract

Coupled chaotic oscillators show phase diffusion phenomenon in association with the breakdown of chaotic phase sychronization. In the present paper, the diffusion coefficient of the phase diffusion near the transition point of chaotic phase synchronization is discussed. The diffusion coefficient shows enhancement just after the desynchronization point and obeys certain scaling laws. To confirm the universality of this phenomenon, we study coupled Rossler oscillators and coupled chaotic maps recently proposed.
