Abstract

A tetranuclear Cu(i) metallacycle stabilized by ditopic organo-pnictogen (P,As) ligands presents stimuli-sensitive luminescence whose origin is compared with those based on congener (P,P) ligands, revealing competitive effects involving solid-state packing and spin–orbit coupling.
