Abstract

This paper introduces a numerical post-processing scheme for practical measured scattering parameter data to repair causality violations due to phase inaccuracy. Idea is to adjust the reference planes of the system ports with lossless delay while considering both scattering parameter causality and dispersion. An example with clearly noncausal RF switch data is shown. Three repairing options are presented all improving the overall causality, but showing also that better causality is achieved at the cost of increased dispersion.
