Abstract

Absorption and dispersion properties of an n-doped three-level semiconductor quantum well are investigated. The effect of coupling field intensity and the relative phase of applied fields on absorption and dispersion properties of a probe beam are then discussed. The required switching times for switching the group velocity of a weak probe field from subluminal to superluminal pulse propagation are also presented.
