Abstract

As known, coexistence of rhombohedral and tetragonal phases around morphotropic phase transition is the key in adjusting the set of material parameters to specific applications. In the present study, the correlation between the physical properties of 0.98Pb(Zr/sub 1-x/Ti/sub x/)O/sub 3/-0.02Sr(K/sub 0.25/Nb/sub 0.75/)O/sub 3/ (0.98PZT-0.02SKN) solid solution and Zr/Ti ratio around morphotropic phase transition has been studied in detail. Choosing the right stoichiometry the PZT-SKN system allows both excellent sensor as well as actuator materials.
