Abstract

The vascular endothelium plays a predominant role in the response of tumors and normal tissues to ionizing radiation. PDGF receptor β and VEGF receptor 2 are localized within the host component of tumors. To determine the pharmacodynamics and biodistribution of TKIs, we studied immunohistochemistry and proteomic response to TKIs in tumor bearing mice. Reduced tumor blood flow results in reduction in tumor perfusion with nutrients and oxygen. We studied the kinetics of tumor blood flow, oxygenation, glycolysis and ATP levels in tumors to determine whether depleted cancers have altered response to radiation.
