Abstract
Phantom phenomena related to urinary functions would seem to be relatively frequent in patients undergoing hemodialysis. These phenomena were reported by 17 of 24 men and seven of 11 women studied. Findings in these patients strongly support the premise that phantoms represent a psychological response to a loss of an important Junction, even in the absence of body disruption.
