Abstract

A new technique for removal of a lens is through a small (2 to 3 mm) corneal incision. Instrumentation, surgical procedure, and clinical evaluation of the technique in 31 animal eyes (26 dogs and five monkeys) is described. There are advantages of the method and it could possibly be applied to human lens extraction.
