Abstract

In the present study, the several novel beads, multi-stimuli responsive were designed based on CMC-ECH-CTS with various CMC/CTS ratio 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 (S1–S3) to survey the targeted delivery and the triggered release of the model drugs. The reaction was done in the presence of %0.01, %0.018 and 0.025 %wt Fe3O4 MNPs (S4–S9) and also in the absence of Fe3O4 MNPs. The incorporated Fe3O4 that was characterized using SEM, XRD, FT-IR, TGA/DTG, BET, VSM, TEM and DLS, could generate a significant morphological changes in the beads. The results showed that swelling and as a result, releasing drug of the resulting beads exactly depend on media pH and the ratio of the CMC/CTS in the beads. Therefore, the highest releasing percentages of DOX and MZ were happened at pH 4.5 and pH 7.4, respectively. The results showed that approximately more than 65.5% of the in vitro total release of DOX took placed by CMC-ECH-CTS-1/2-Fe3O4(0.018 %wt) (S7) beads in SGF within 12 h, whereas with changing media from acidic to basic nearly 71% MZ drug was released by CMC-ECH-CTS-2/1-Fe3O4(0.018 %wt) (S6) beads in SIF at the same time. Finally, the MTT assay confirmed that all the resulting beads were less toxic to Hela and Balb/c 3T3 cells than the free drugs DOX and MZ.
