PH-Controlled Two New Co(II) Coordination Polymers Based on 5-Pyrimidyl Benzoic Acid: Synthesis, Structures, and Properties

Abstract

Two new Co(II) coordination polymers, namely [Co(L)2(H2O)2]n (1) and [Co(HL)(H2O)4]n (2) (HL = 4-pyrimidyl-benzoic acid), have been successfully synthesized through tuning the pH value of reaction system. Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that compound 1 is a two-dimensional (2D) layer framework, and compound 2 is a zero-dimensional (0D) independent structure. These two compounds are all extended into three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular framework through intramolecular hydrogen bonds. In addition, thermal analysis of these two compounds was also ed.
