Abstract

SummarySoil moisture and soil pH determinations were made in the Afroalpine belt of Mt. Kenya between 3,780 m and 4,480 m, and the pH of free water samples was also found.A range of pH tolerance is suggested for some giant species of Lobelia and Senecio, and comparisons are made with other published data.
