Abstract
This work is concerned with the studying of Ediacaran petroleum potential within Volyn-Podyllian. For the first time ever, the lithostratigraphycal, geological, geothermal, geochemical and paleohistorical analysis was provided for the whole Ediacaran section to determine its petroleum potential.The description of Precambrian succession in the world with its hydrocarbon occurrence was included. In addition to that, this work contains methodology and methods of the basin analysis study, which was perfomed. The potential source rocks, reservoirs and seals within the study area were defined and described.Based on the computer-integrated instruments, for the Neoproterozoic deposits were created: third-dimensional model of its succession, depth map, schematic map of katagenetic zones and concentration model of organic carbon. The paleoconditions of deposition and maturation processes of organic matter were reconstructed.
