Abstract
Minor variations in production in Israel in 1977, from fields discovered more than 20 years ago, resulted in a 20% decline to 585 BOPD and a 5% increase to 5.9 MMCFGD. Geophysical activity declined, and 1 crew was released at midyear. Deep drilling was undertaken at 2 locations. Fourteen wells were drilled on shallow gas prospects with negative results. The National Energy Authority and the newly created Ministry of Energy began functioning.
