Abstract

The worldwide sea-level fluctuations during the Pyrenean Orogeny caused substantial regressions in the north of Central Iran during the Eocene-Oligocene time. These orogenic activities shaped shallow marginal marine basins in some regions, which were sites for subsequent evaporite deposition.
