Abstract

This bibliography of the writings of Peter Brinson is necessarily incomplete. It is intended to demonstrate something of the wide range of his interests in the field of dance. A full bibliography would be extremely large and difficult to compile as his journalism ranged from articles on wine, written in his early years, to obituaries of dance personalities written for The Independent in the late 1980s and into the 1990s. He also spent a considerable amount of his time writing what is known to librarians as 'Grey Literature', the reports and papers for committees and institutions which are not often formally published but which are the essential means of moving forward their business and development. He was always amused by the term 'Grey Literature' and it is ironic that his were such models of inspirational clarity of forward thinking. Most of the personal collection of papers which he left to the Library and Archives of the Laban Centre are still being sorted. Work is continuing on this at the Centre and we shall always be pleased to lear of other examples of his writing which can be added to this compilation.
