Abstract

Penetration of information about Buddhism into Russia has a long history. Cultural contacts with Orient had very important place in Russian history and culture. During these contacts, information about culture of people and countries of Orient came into Russia. Relativity systematical research of Buddhism was started in the 18th century and was connected with Russian researchers and translators works.
