Abstract

Green beans are one of the most popular food crops in Indonesia, many problems have resulted in a decrease in mung bean production so that efforts are needed to improve the growth and production of mung bean plants, one of which is by improving soil fertility through the addition of organic matter, namely the use of biochar and organic fertilizer goat manure. The purpose of this study was to analyze the optimal dose in the interaction of biochar and organic matter levels for the growth of mung bean plants. This research was conducted at JL. Kaliurang, Karangrejo village, Sumbersari District, Jember Regency from January to March 2023. The experiment used a Split Plot based on Group Random Design (RAK) consisting of two factors, the first factor was Organic matter (BO) with a level of 0%, 3%, 4% and the second factor was biochar with doses of 5 tons / ha, 10 tons / ha, 15 tons / ha and 20 tons / ha and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results showed that the application of biochar 20 tons / ha most affected the parameters of plant height 42 HST of 49.38 cm and leaf length with a maximum average of 14.01 cm. In general, the addition of 3% organic matter and the application of biochar of 15 tons/ha and 20 tons/ha became the highest values for all parameter.
