Abstract
It has been observed that critical studies on the poetry of Washington Delgado are fundamentally oriented to place him in the group of the Generation of 50, in relation to their published books. TheLiterary criticism has followed the vital and productive career of Delgado, valuing and revaluing in some way its poetic discursivity. Is important to point out the artistic elements in Washington's poetryDelgado taking into account the contribution of literary theory as an instrument to enrich current criticism; Thus, the theory of argumentationallows us to know the poetic strategy of the author through the use of persuasive categories in his poetry.
