Each of the reviewers, while appreciating at least some aspects of our book, has mused about the way it could, and perhaps should, have been written. In our response, we highlight these alternative texts. We suspect that the reader will agree with our reviewers, and with us, that the interface of the fields of cognitive, social, and personality psychology holds the promise of some excellent books waiting to be written by the right people.
