Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper briefly surveys the membership of the Canadian Consortium of University Programs in International Development Studies (ccupids) to establish a perspective on the variety of institutional and intellectual contexts within which international development is studied in Canada. The paper then examines some of the institutional and intellectual challenges that currently influence the directions of debate in the field of International Development Studies (ids), such as challenges of location, progression, field, linkage, internationalization, globalization, and identity.
